Role Overview
For a six-month contract, we are looking for an experienced Assessment Specialist (Psychometrist) to join our team. In addition to offering knowledgeable counsel on organizational design and assessment procedures, the chosen applicant will be in charge of managing and delivering psychometric tests for team-building, development, and recruitment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full assessment process, including scheduling, administration, scoring, interpretation, and feedback, while ensuring compliance with HPCSA regulations and company policies.
- Select and apply suitable assessment tools based on role requirements, in line with best practices and legislative guidelines.
- Compile comprehensive, integrated reports detailing results and recommendations.
- Deliver feedback to both management and candidates regarding outcomes and development opportunities.
- Design customised exercises (e.g., case studies, role plays) in partnership with subject matter experts.
- Collaborate with leadership teams on organisational development (OD) initiatives.
- Develop, update, and maintain accurate job profiles and role descriptions.
- Advise management on key competencies required for roles and build success profiles where needed.
- Support the collection, analysis, and reporting of data related to assessments and OD programmes.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with candidates, managers, staff, and external service providers.
- Provide expert support in addressing queries related to assessments and OD interventions.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent (mandatory).
- Honours Degree in Psychology (mandatory).
- Registration with the HPCSA as a Psychometrist or Psychologist (mandatory).
- At least 5 years of relevant experience within a mid-sized organisation (mandatory).
- Aviation industry background (advantageous).
- Certification in the following tools:
- WRISC (JvR) – essential
- TTS Suite – advantageous
- CPP – advantageous
- Strong understanding of organisational design, assessment methodologies, and relevant legislation (BCEA, EEA, SDA, Codes of Good Practice).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, planning, and organisational ability.
- Problem-solving, facilitation, and research skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
