When it comes to building your network, the first people to reach out to should be family and friends who can provide you with opportunities or guidance, but for most South Africans such relatives are hard to find. If you're a student, a great way to build connections with industry is by attending youth initiatives and career fairs in your school. you can also register on government platforms like the Employment Services of South Africa.


Gain Skills and do projects:

In order to get employed with no experince, you have to show that you can perform the job. doing personal projects is a good way to show your skills; projects showcase your skills better than a CV can.. But before doing a project, you need the skill. There are a lot of ways to upskill yourself; platforms like Udemy have courses for almost everything you can imagine at a relatively low price. Another platform is YouTube, which is free. Create an online portfolio on websites like GitHub.


Volunteer work:

Volunteering is a classic way that still works to this date to gain experience, offer your time to local businesses, nonprofits, or community organizations. Volunteering, job shadowing, or even short-term internships can give you practical experience, teach you how workplaces operate, and help you discover what you enjoy doing. More importantly, it allows you to build a network of contacts and collect references for your CV


Internships and Learnerships: Get Paid to Learn:

Even though Internships and learnerships have been hard to find in South Africa they are still one of the best ways to gain experience while working toward a qualification.
