Junior First Officer—Flight Deck Role Description The Junior First Officer (FO) is very important for making sure that flights run safely, efficiently, and professionally. The Junior FO works closely with the Captain and the rest of the operations team to make sure that the company follows all aviation rules, company policies, and industry best practices, all while keeping the company's promise to provide great customer service. ⸻ Main Duties• Safety and efficiency in flight• Help make sure that all flights are safe, on time, and run smoothly.• Follow company rules for all pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks.• Keep an eye on the plane's systems, instruments, and flight path to make sure they are working correctly.• Duties for Operations• Follow the Captain's orders to fly the plane and keep an eye on what's going on at all times.• Follow the Operations' normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or Equivalent (Essential);
• SACAA Commercial (Essential);
• Class 1 SACAA Medical (Essential);
• SACAA ATPL (Preferred);
• Type rated on Boeing (Advantageous);
• Must have a minimum of 1000 total flying hours and a minimum of 500 Twin Turbine (P1/2) (<10 000kg) (Essential) OR;
• Must have a minimum of 1000 total flying hours and Boeing / Airbus Type Rated (Including Level D sim time) (Essential) OR;
• Must have a minimum of 1000 total flying hours and a minimum of 250 hours on (Jet/Turbine) (>10 000kg) (Essential);
• Willing to sign applicable training bond/s;
• No criminal record;
• Own transport and RSA Driver’s License;
• SA Citizen with proof of Identity;
• Valid RSA Passport;
• Must be willing to work irregular hours on a roster;
• Must have detailed knowledge and understanding of National Aviation regulations such as SACAA, ICAO;
• Knowledge of Doc 8168 (Essential);
• Knowledge of Commercial and Airline Transport Pilots licensing content. ;
• Language proficiency Level 6.
